How The Bear Revolutionised the ‘Plain White Tee’

Based on the famous 1944 model, this beautiful interpretation of a WWII classic has become a firm favourite at Son of a Stag. The WWII 1100 model is a classic 5-pocket jean with a comfortable mid rise and a straight leg, which gives an iconic relaxed/straight silhouette.
This particular model boasts some features which make it stand out from the others and earn its historical stripes. Its historical context is in the late years of the Second World War, a period of intense hardship and rationing. This caused denim production to have to cut corners in order to preserve supplies until peace time was renewed and resources would be plentiful. Often, jeans would be thrown together using whatever was available, and on this example Full Count have forsaken the usual canvas pocket bags for military style Olive HBT pocket bags, a fabric of which there would have been an abundance. With no thread to spare for extra detailing, the pocket arcuates have been painted on. The watch pocket goes un-riveted to allow precious metal supplies to be used for much needed ammunition.
Full Count are a brand who are world renowned for their close attention to detail and strict adherence to authenticity. With this limited edition offering they have made a jean which not only stays loyal to it’s historical touchpoint, but will endure into the future archives of modern denim manufacture.
